From the age of 7 children start on the path to Black Belt.  We call our 7-9 year olds 'Commandos'.

Children this age have specific characteristics that differ from children younger and older than them. They are sharper and more focused than children 6 and under, however, they are still not quite ready to face the same challenges presented to children 10-12 years of age.

Although some children between the ages of 7-9 can keep up with older children, and in some cases, surpass them, the average 7-9 year old can benefit from a more specific type of training that will help them develop the best; physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

This is why we provide specific and separate classes for this age group. All classes support positive attitudes and we have learnt that children prefer to work in small groups of 3-5.  They feel safe and secure in small groups.
Instructors encourage our Commandos to 'have a go'!

Benefits include establishing a good discipline base within an environment that enhances social interaction and promotes happy, positive attitudes towards learning.

Research has shown that as we teach Taekwondo we need to target 8 advanced skills that children of this age group are in the process of developing. Those skills are:

» Agility
» Technique
» Courage
» Intensity
» Flexibility
» Perseverance
» Speed
» Concentration

Hall's Taekwondo has qualified Instructors as great role models who place emphasis on developing character in youngsters this age who want to be:

» Courageous, disciplined and enjoying friendships.
